What is the HJC HJ-20M Pinlock Lens Clear used for?

The HJC HJ-20M Pinlock Lens Clear is specifically designed for use with HJC helmets, providing riders with superior visibility. It prevents fogging, which is crucial for maintaining clear vision during rides in varying weather conditions. This lens is particularly useful for riders who frequently encounter temperature changes, as it effectively minimizes the risk of fog buildup, allowing for a safer and more enjoyable riding experience.

How does the Pinlock technology work in the HJC HJ-20M Lens?

Pinlock technology operates on the principle of creating an air pocket between the lens layers, which drastically reduces humidity and temperature fluctuations. This innovative design helps to avoid condensation, ensuring that your vision remains unobstructed while riding. As temperatures change, the air trap between the lenses remains stable, contributing to consistent clarity. Riders engaging in various terrains and weather will find this feature particularly beneficial.

Can the HJC HJ-20M Pinlock Lens be used with other brands' helmets?

The HJC HJ-20M Pinlock Lens Clear is specifically designed to fit HJC helmets and is not compatible with helmets from other manufacturers. Each helmet brand has unique attachment methods and designs, making it essential to use lenses that are specially made for that brand. Using a lens not designed for your helmet may compromise functionality and safety, thus it's advisable to stick with brand-specific accessories for optimal performance.

Is the HJC HJ-20M Pinlock Lens Clear scratch-resistant?

Yes, the HJC HJ-20M Pinlock Lens is treated to be scratch-resistant, enhancing durability and prolonging its usability. This added feature is crucial for riders who frequently face debris, wind, and weather conditions that could otherwise damage standard lenses. Maintaining clean and clear vision is imperative for safe riding, especially during long distances or in busy traffic environments.

How do I install the HJC HJ-20M Pinlock Lens onto my helmet?

Installing the HJC HJ-20M Pinlock Lens is straightforward. First, ensure that your helmet is clean and free from dust. Align the lens with the designated pins on the inner visor of the helmet and gently press until it clicks into place. This design allows for secure fitting, ensuring that the lens remains in position during rides. Regular checks and proper installation can further enhance your riding safety and visibility.

What should I do if my HJC HJ-20M Pinlock Lens gets foggy?

If your HJC HJ-20M Pinlock Lens begins to fog, first check that it is properly installed. If it is installed correctly and still fogs, it may be time for cleaning. Use a microfiber cloth and a gentle cleaner designed for helmets to clean both sides of the lens. Additionally, ensure that the lens is free from scratches that can trap moisture. Regular cleaning and care will help maintain clarity, particularly during temperature shifts while riding.

Does the HJC HJ-20M Pinlock Lens provide UV protection?

Yes, the HJC HJ-20M Pinlock Lens Clear offers UV protection, which is essential for safeguarding your eyes from harmful sun exposure while riding. Prolonged exposure to UV rays can lead to various eye problems, making it important for riders who spend extended time outdoors. With the added UV protection, the lens not only promotes clear vision but also supports eye health, especially during long rides in bright conditions.

Is the HJC HJ-20M Pinlock Lens suitable for night riding?

The HJC HJ-20M Pinlock Lens Clear is ideal for night riding due to its clarity and fog-resistant properties. While the lens itself is clear and does not distort colors, ensuring clarity at night allows riders to navigate dimly lit areas safely. For even better night visibility, consider pairing it with an appropriate helmet shield or combined visor that offers enhanced night-time performance.
