The UGear Globus Model is a great wooden puzzle for adults and older children who love to assemble models. The instructions are easy to follow, and the mechanics of the model work well, as long as the wax and sandpaper provided are used correctly. The wooden parts are accurately cut and fit together nicely, making the assembly process smooth. The quality of the wood is top-notch, thick enough to be sturdy and handle clumsy fingers, and the pieces come out cleanly from the wooden sheet. The gears are rubber-band powered and turn the globe and orbit the space ship, making it an impressive mechanical model once completed. However, the paper cut-outs used to attach continents to the globe are flimsy and can tear quickly, causing difficulty in assembly. The paper cut-out of the globe design seems out of place and should have been made out of wood as well. Although the Globe does get wound up and rotates for a bit, it does not rotate continuously, and it moves when you wind it up. Overall, if you're looking for a great new quarantine hobby, this is the perfect item for you. It is recommended for older children and adults who have prior experience in model-assembly.
