What are the key features of the Eighteen Sound XG10.1 Line Array Aluminium Horns?

The Eighteen Sound XG10.1 is designed with a die-cast aluminum construction, which ensures durability and longevity under various conditions. It facilitates exceptional acoustic performance, allowing it to control dispersion and optimize sound projection. The horn is optimized for use with a 1-inch compression driver, improving clarity and reducing distortion at high output levels. This makes it ideal for large venues, concerts, and other events where precise sound is critical.

What applications is the XG10.1 horn suitable for?

The XG10.1 horn is highly versatile, making it suitable for applications such as concert halls, outdoor festivals, and large auditoriums. Its exceptional sound projection capabilities allow it to deliver high-quality audio across vast spaces, ensuring that every audience member experiences clear and impactful sound. Additionally, it’s perfect for installations where high SPL and clarity are needed, such as in live sound reinforcement setups.

How does the design of the XG10.1 improve sound performance?

The innovative design of the XG10.1 horn enhances its acoustic performance by optimizing the waveguide for better sound dispersion. This ensures a more focused sound beam, reducing feedback and phase issues often associated with wide dispersion systems. The die-cast aluminum construction provides structural integrity, which minimizes unwanted vibrations that can muddy audio quality. This design is ideal for professional audio setups requiring consistent sound coverage.

Is the XG10.1 compatible with all 1-inch compression drivers?

Yes, the Eighteen Sound XG10.1 is specifically designed to be compatible with standard 1-inch compression drivers. Depending on the driver used, users can expect a performance optimized for both clarity and efficiency. However, it's advisable to verify compatibility with the manufacturer's specifications of the compression driver to maximize audio performance. This ensures users get the best out of their audio systems.

What type of environments are ideal for using the XG10.1 horns?

The XG10.1 horns are ideal for both indoor and outdoor environments, particularly in settings where high sound pressure levels are required. They are commonly used in live concert settings, corporate events, and festivals. Their robust construction allows them to perform well even in outdoor conditions, providing consistent sound quality while enduring the rigors of extensive use.

How do I install the Eighteen Sound XG10.1 horn?

Installation of the XG10.1 horn requires proper mounting hardware compatible with your audio setup. First, secure the horn to a stable mounting bracket, ensuring it is positioned to optimize sound coverage. Connect your 1-inch compression driver to the horn’s throat, making sure all connections are snug. Following the manufacturer’s guidelines ensures safe and effective installation, allowing you to achieve the best performance for your event.

Can I use the XG10.1 in a passive audio system?

Yes, the XG10.1 can be integrated into both passive and active audio systems, provided you match it appropriately with suitable amplifiers and drivers. In passive setups, sound engineers must pay attention to the crossover settings to ensure optimal frequency response and avoid distortion. By leveraging its design, users can maintain excellent sound quality, whether in casual setups or professional applications.

What does 'die-cast aluminum construction' mean for the XG10.1 horn?

Die-cast aluminum construction means that the horn is molded under high pressure, making it lightweight yet robust. This material choice enhances durability and resists corrosion, making the horn less likely to deform or suffer damage from external factors. By minimizing unwanted resonance, this construction type also contributes to clearer sound quality, making the XG10.1 a reliable option for long-term use in any setting.

What frequency range does the XG10.1 horn cover?

The Eighteen Sound XG10.1 horn is designed to operate effectively within a frequency range tailored for professional applications, typically around 1 kHz to 20 kHz. This range is adequate for delivering crisp highs while maintaining vocal clarity. Users may pair it with appropriate drivers to ensure full-scale audio playback, providing an immersive sound experience for various audio requirements.
