Zoo Med Gravel 26406 Editorial Review
This excavator clay is highly recommended for reptile owners who want to invite burrowing behaviour for their pets - Uromastyx and Bearded Dragons. It is excellent for building structures and caves for such reptiles as the clay is strong and easy to clean. However, it can be difficult and frustrating to work with at first. It can fall apart easily when you are working with too much or too little water. It is essential to let the clay dry for at least 3-5 days depending on the thickness of the clay. A few customers used cork tubes as a base for tunnels and then coated with clay. They then used desert sand to cover the clay and baked it until it hardened. The product can cause impaction issues in leopard geckos, but it has various uses for house plants and other reptiles. It can be challenging to dump away the clay if you use a vacuum and the dust you catch with it but is generally easy to use. However, some customers had issues with mould growth and found it challenging to clean. One customer found the product expensive for its quantity.
