Answer: Depending on the level of build up, as others have stated, it will require some scrubbing to dissolve and remove stubborn stains. We'd recommend a gentle soap to start before moving to the scrub. The product is specially formulated to help restore your cast iron to its original glory! -

Answer: Yes, just go buy yourself some cheap coarse salt by the bag. This is just overpriced coarse salt and coconut oil. You don’t need the oil to clean, just the salt and some water. 1lb bag of salt should cost 5 dollars.
