Mathieu Kassovitz (Actor), David Ritchie (Actor) TV Editorial Review
Apocalypse: World War II is a French production that offers a unique perspective on the events of World War II. It includes newly-found footage from French, German, and Russian sources, with the French side emphasised more than in most documentaries. The documentary is delivered in a more academic style and does a decent job of showcasing the events of the war, making it a great learning experience. The colourisation is well-done and creates a more realistic depiction of the war. Its narration is not as good as Martin Sheen's, but it doesn't detract from the overall experience. The images are of decent quality, and the restoration work is impressive. Overall, Apocalypse: World War II is a must-watch for history buffs looking for a fresh perspective on the war.
