It has an interior size of 18 1/2 in. long, 9 in. wide and 6 1/4 in. high and requires a 4x4 wooden post that is installed underground at least 18 inches and 22 - 30 inches above ground for the mailbox post to slip over and attach to it. The mailbox is easy to assemble and features a slip-over post that measures approximately 36 inches from the bottom to the edge of the newspaper holder. One customer noted that the flat area on the newspaper part is about 2 1/4" X 15", and the vertical post has a flat area about 2" wide, where they attached their house number. Another customer inquired about buying a replacement mailbox, and it was suggested that they contact Gibraltar's customer service directly.
