The HP PageWide Pro 577dw multifunction printer is a hit and miss device according to one customer despite being compatible with Mac OS X v10.11 El Capitan, OS X v10.10 Yosemite, and OS X v10.9 Mavericks. One user found color printing to be slower in draft setting and that text documents print well in the draft setting. However, the photos printed on photo paper are of excellent quality. Another review said the printer is fast and efficient, with excellent color ink and functionality. It is ideal for printing promotional materials in-house, including glossy 110lb card stock, index cards, and plain paper. A major disappointment is that the scanner cannot automatically scan several pages, making it inconvenient for people who use that feature extensively. Envelope printing is possible, but it is not very convenient compared to standard paper printing.
