NooElec Antennas NESDR XTR+ Editorial Review
The NooElec Nesdr Mini contains RTL2832U with E4000 tuner SDR receiver. It is capable of receiving nearly all cellphone frequencies, and it can be used on a Mac or an Android device. The required drivers and software can be downloaded for free from the NooElec website. Although it can demodulate most modulation types like SSB, the CB radio’s frequency range is beyond its capability. In terms of performance, the user’s experience with this product varies. Some customers reported having a problem with the product. Some said the item stops working after a few minutes of use, while others reported having trouble receiving anything unless the transmitter is next to the antenna. There are also reports of customers receiving products that did not work at all. However, some customers said the product exceeded their expectations in terms of range and sensitivity. One buyer used the dongle in 1.68 GHz and found it working well, while another said it was a great way to check out the software-defined radio. Overall, the NooElec Nesdr Mini is one of the cheapest SDR receiver available in the market, and it is worth considering if you are interested in using it as a software-defined radio. However, it may not be the best choice for users who require guaranteed performance.
