One customer who claimed to have extensive experience with different brands of boots was disappointed with the quality of the Bates Maneuver boot. They mentioned that after only a week of wearing them, the insole felt worn out and needed replacement. This customer expressed their disappointment in Bates as a brand and questioned if this was the standard for their products. Another customer mentioned that the boots were extremely squeaky and not suitable for tactical use. They specifically highlighted the pleather tongue piece rubbing and causing a loud squeak with every step. They also jokingly stated that these boots would not be ideal for sneaking up on anyone. There was a customer who stated that the boot they purchased was defective and not waterproof. Another customer had specific criteria in mind when looking for a boot and found that the Bates Maneuver Mid met all of their requirements. They praised the boot for its black leather upper, waterproof and breathable features, Vibram anti-slip sole, and well-built Construction. However, they mentioned that the boot initially felt tight/narrow due to the thick insole but advised that with patience and breaking them in, the fit became comfortable. A positive review mentioned that the boot kept their feet dry and felt lightweight, even during long hours of wear. They recommended changing out the included insoles for a better fit. However, they expressed disappointment in having to spend extra money to make the boot work for them. Lastly, one customer had issues with the sizing of the boot, stating that they were unable to put it on as it seemed to be a size smaller than expected.
